Ken Tofel
Justice of the Peace
Precinct 3

"I sincerely appreciate the voters' confidence when they elected me and hope the office has met - and exceeded - their expectations while serving my first term," said Tofel.

"I take the duties that have been entrusted to me very seriously and hope to continue serving the constituents of Precinct Three, if elected, for the final four years to the best of my abilities."

After 21 years in the military, Tofel in 1995 came to Brenham and established what became a national recognized program at Brenham High School, the Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officer Training Program.

While serving as director there, the program provided ROTC students with more than $3 million in scholarships. Tofel was also instrumental in construction of the JROTC facility on the BHS campus.

The Tofels are members of Champion Fellowship Church and have lived in Precinct Three for more than 20 years.

"Justice of the peace is an important position in county government, and I have worked to be fair and impartial in all my dealings with the public," he said. "I came to this office to provide common sense, lawful judgments and feel I have truly created a courtroom for the everyday person, a place where common sense and right versus wrong triumph, a place where you can be heard equally, whether you have a high-priced Houston attorney or a speech scribbled on a dinner napkin."
